Konstantinos Merkouris

Konstantinos Merkouris is a PhD candidate in the Department of Geology at the University of Patras, Greece.

He earned an MSc in Oceanography, attending the interdepartmental program of Geology & Biology, 'Oceanography – Exploration, Assessment and Management of the Marine Environment' at the University of Patras (2023).

Additionally, he received a BA (Bachelor of Arts) in History and Archaeology from the University of Ioannina, Greece (2020). He has actively participated in various archaeological projects and worked in institutions both in Greece and abroad (United Kingdom), while his current research interests focus on the mapping, interpretation, and protection of underwater cultural heritage, as well as the impact of sea level fluctuation on early coastal human settlements.
